Thailand Liveaboard

Built in 2000 the Mermaid 2 has been operating as a liveaboard for 8 years. At 33 metres in length and 7 metres in beam she can comfortably carry up to a maximum of 18 guests. Over the years constant revisions and improvements have been made and she is now one of the most comfortable and diver friendly liveaboards in Thailand. Cruises run both to the north of Phuket to the Similan islands and also south to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang.

Cabins

There are total of 9 cabins on Mermaid 2, 8 deluxe cabins and 1 standard cabin. All the cabins are located on the main deck except for the standard cabin located on the lower deck.

Deluxe Cabin

Each cabin contains both a double bed and a single bunk. A maximum of 2 persons are allowed in each cabin so they can be used as either a double or twin. The cabins are all air-conditioned and also have their own private en suite hot shower and toilet, and fitted cupboard. Each cabin also has a large panoramic window allowing lots of natural light and those special views of the Andaman sea.

Standard Cabin

The standard cabin has twin bunks only. The cabin is air-conditioned with shared bathroom (adjoining with one staff cabin). There are no windows in this cabin.

Mermaid 2 Onboard Areas

On the main deck is the dining area where meals are served buffet style. Meals are a mix of both Thai and Western with special requests such as vegetarian also catered for (please request in advance). On the upper deck is a very comfortable lounge area with luxury sofas. There is also a TV and DVD player with a selection of films on hand plus a music center.

Also on the upper deck are tow outside areas. At the bow is an uncovered area with sun beds for the sun worshippers. At the stern is the "party deck" with loungers and cushioned sun chairs.

Dive Groups

Dive groups on Mermaid 2 are generally limited to a maximum size of five people for each dive guide. All guides are professionally trained divemasters experienced in Southern Islands diving who are dedicated to the cause. Dive times are up to one hour per dive.
