A Two Day Diving Adventure

If you have previously completed your PADI Scuba Diver course but now wish to become a fully certified PADI Open Water diver then this is the course for you. Within two days you can complete the upgrade course plus we will also refresh you on the most important skills that you covered in your original course. Completion of this course will allow you to dive in the future to maximum depths of 18 metres with any other certified diver. Open to anyone who is ten years of age or older.

The Course Itself

Day One

• As a PADI Scuba Diver you will previously have watched the first three chapters of the PADI Open Water DVD. Start your upgrade course by watching the final two chapters of the PADI educational diving DVD. Choose to watch it either in the comfort of your own hotel or alternatively in our relaxed learning environment. If you wish to watch the DVD in your hotel then let us know and we will deliver the DVD to you prior to the course start date.

• Next, off to the pool. Start by discussing what you saw in the diving video with your own private instructor. Learn and practice diving skills in a custom-designed diving pool, initially in shallow water, later moving to deep water. Swim around underwater in the pool to help you become familiar with the underwater world in a safe and relaxed environment. We will also go over the most important skills covered in your original Scuba Diver course.

Day Two

• Time to get into the sea. Enjoy a day trip to the beautiful island of Racha Yai and discover the local reefs. Over two dives practice some of the skills learnt on the previous day plus explore the underwater world with your own personal instructor right by your side at all times to ensure your safety.

A Full Day Out

The dives for the course are carried out from a large day trip diving boat. The boat trip itself is a full day out on a large, modern and very comfortable vessel including sun deck and air-conditioned lounge. Transfers are provided both morning and evening between your hotel and the boat. On the journey out enjoy the beautiful scenery whilst having a cooked breakfast before your adventure truly begins. Lunch is also included with pancakes or cheese/ham toasties on the way home on three dive days.

Racha Yai Island

Racha Yai island is a great place for beginner divers. There are lots of sheltered bays for easy diving, underwater visibility is generally very good, and an abundance of marine life to be seen. The coral reefs contain many underwater treasures including various types of corals, sponges and fishes. Colourful parrotfish, exotic lionfish, sea stars, sea cucumbers and much more can be encountered. If your luck is in you may even chance across a turtle or a shark. Whatever you see it will be sure to leave you with many superb memories and a desire to dive again as soon as you can.

Price includes private instruction, certification costs, hotel pick up/drop off (Kata, Karon, Patong, Kamala, Surin) on diving day, boat trip to Racha Yai island inc. breakfast and lunch, equipment use, and two boat dives.
